She hates her last name, but forces herself to go by it due to her sense of pride (until she discovers the correct name, she refuses to wear any other, lesser name, preferring to keep the obvious pseudonym than to 'disgrace herself so'). The name was originally changed to protect the family during the Clan Hunts of the previous 200 years, but now the knowledge of the original family name has been lost, although the clan plaid was saved. A well-built woman of medium height and obvious Celtic extraction, Correna is never found without her Sword of No Name, her Great Harp and her horses. She radiates a sense of secure self-confidence and her grey-eyed level gaze is enough to make others pause. A silver torc with shaped ends may be seen around her neck, one bearing a horsehead, the other the head of a wolf, both with emerald eyes. From the dark flame of her hair and the ornate emerald and amethyst ring-pin fastening her green Kinsale cloak, to the forest green/black/amethyst plaid supporting her silver-hilted sabre and matching dagger, Correna may well have stepped out of one of the hero's tales that she sings so well. On anyone else, her customary outfit would appear to be just a well-tailored pageantry costume from some impossibly ancient legend, but on Correna Gansthai, it merely looks like the only appropriate garmentry of the Irish myth she so resembles. The only jarring note to her entire equipage are the five exceedingly ugly cast bronze medallions on contemptuously proud display, depending from her plaid sash. Her huge red bay stallion, Aodhadarragh, is nearly a match for her own dark auburn hair, while her other horse is a blue roan mare named Alanagh. Both horses are superbly built and impeccably trained, thus Correna would never insult them with a halter or bridle.
